Ames Chamber Artists Spring Concert announced

Ames Chamber Artists, central Iowa’s audtioned adult choral ensemble will present their

spring concert, To Beauty, Life, and Love in Des Moines and Ames.

The Des Moines performance will be a part of the Soli Dei Musica Concert Series at

Faith on April 30, 4:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 10395 University Avenue. Admission to this

concert is free although there will be a free will donation.

The Ames concert will be on Saturday, May 13, 7:30 p.m. at Collegiate Presbyterian

Church. Tickets are $12.00 for adults and $9.00 for students and seniors and are available

in advance from one of the “33” singers or at Evert’s Flowers and Rieman Music on Main

Street in Ames.

Director David Johnson, has selected pieces that will truly provide the audience the

depth of emotional experiences of Beauty, Life, and Love. Contemporary composers

are featured in this concert and some of the selections are If Music Be the Food of

Love by Heveningham, Entreat Me Not to Leave You by Dan Forest, and Three

Madrigals by Emma Lou Diemer. In addition to the previously mentioned composers

ACA will also be performing two selections by Eric Whitacre, the hauntingly beautiful

set of Five Hebrew Songs and the poetic A Boy and a Girl.
